General Tso Chicken Home-cooked style
Serves 2-3
Ingredients:
1 lbs boneless chicken thigh. Cut into bite size
1 egg
1 1/2 cup cornstarch for coating
1/2 tbs cornstarch for the starch mix
6 tbs water for the starch mix
1/4 cup thin cut green peppers
10 pieces of medium size dried chilis
2 garlic. Grated
1/2 tsp grated ginger
3 tbs sesame oil
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup water
Salt & pepper
Sesame seeds for garnishing
Directions:
1. In a bowl, beat egg and slightly season it with salt & pepper.
2. Repeat the seasoning with the starch in separate plate.
3. First coat chicken cuts in egg then corn starch. Fry and cook until it turns brown. Strain and put it aside.
4. In a wok/pan, heat up sesame oil then add garlic and ginger. Cook for a minute then add soy sauce, green peppers & dried chilis.
5. Quickly in a small bowl make the starch mix with corn starch and water. Add into the wok and keep stirring. Cook for another minute then add the rest of the water.
6. After a minute turn off the heat and immidieatly add in the fried chickens. Coat chickens with sauce and garnish with sesame seeds. Bon apettite!
